The first video in this series, Anna will be talking about the importance of counting your music from the very beginning of your dance training. Counting, both audible or using your inner voice in your head or humming in your throat, will help to build a strong connection from mind to body. Developing this internal timing benefits the dancer in so many ways. The dancer will be able to make more smooth transitions, an essential skill for advanced dancers, and have more confident footwork. The dancer is one-with-the-music because they feel the beat.
