Try out some Egyptian Folkloric steps from Upper Egypt!

Anna will demonstrate the Heel Tap and the Basic Sa’idi Sweep. Belly dancers often use these movements when performing Raqs al Assaya – a dance style that uses a stick (staff/cane).

This style is derived from an Egyptian martial art/sport known as Tahtib, which has roots in the stick fighting arts of ancient Egypt. Professional belly dancers, especially in Egypt, love using Saidi-style stick routines in their performances.

This demonstration was filmed in Saidi week of Anna’s Foundations16-Week Program.
