Meet Anna - Creator of Ahlam Academy
Anna is the creator of the Ahlam Academy program at Oriental Phoenix Arts, where she has become known for her deeply informed, transformative, and culturally grounded approach to Egyptian dance education.
With more than 25 years of dedicated study, performance, and teaching experience, Anna has established herself as a highly respected instructor committed to excellence in both artistry and education. Her work blends technical precision, authentic cultural understanding, and a strong emphasis on personal growth, creating an environment where students are challenged, supported, and empowered at every stage of their journey.
Anna’s path into belly dance began during a pivotal period in her life. After struggling with chronic depression and anxiety, she discovered that learning how to belly dance offered far more than physical movement, it became a source of healing, confidence, strength, and joy.
That personal transformation continues to shape the heart of her teaching today.
In addition to her extensive dance training and performance background, Anna is also a certified NASM personal trainer, group fitness instructor, functional flexibility coach, and fitness nutrition consultant. This multidisciplinary expertise allows her to bring a uniquely holistic perspective to her classes, helping students develop not only dance technique, but also body awareness, physical conditioning, confidence, and longevity in movement.
Through the Ahlam Academy program, Anna is passionately committed to providing exceptional instruction, high-quality educational resources, and a supportive learning experience for dancers of all levels.
Her mission is to help students build both skill and self-trust while experiencing the powerful personal transformation that learning to dance can offer.
