Are you a new belly dance performer or maybe you would like to perform and you want to know what you should be working on to lay the best performance skill foundation? Anna’s “New Performer Series” will help teach you everything you need to be thinking about and practicing during this stage of your belly dance performance journey.

The fourth video in this series, Anna will be discussing the importance of gaining control of your face by first learning to maintain a big smile.

One of the biggest struggles of newer dancers is being able to look comfortable and confident in those early performances when often they are feeling the exact opposite, anxious and shy. For many of us, it takes a long time to master our emotions, but that doesn’t mean we have to look awkward until we finally gain self-confidence. No, we fake until we make it.

Tip #4 suggests that you practice putting on a big smile (if you are using appropriate music) to help you form new facial habits until you are able to master the art of expression.

Smiling in only Step 1. There are more steps to mastering your face on stage. Stay tuned and be sure to subscribe so you will get future videos.

Remember, nothing replaces a great teacher in a LIVE classroom. If you have problems with expressing yourself on stage, schedule a private lesson with Anna online or in person at our studio in Houston.
