On October 1st from 11:15am to 5:45pm, Ahlam Academy of Middle Eastern Dance will be hosting three AAMED workshops. You do not have to be an AAMED Certification student to take advantage of these classes. Everyone is welcome to attend!

History & Geography of Egyptian Oriental Dance
Take an educational journey with me, to mysterious lands and discover the origins and history of Egyptian Oriental dance. From ancient Egypt to modern Cairo, we will uncover the development of dance entertainment through time, unveiling the many influences, to reveal the important people and places that have shaped modern Egyptian Oriental dance today.
This class is an AAMED L1 requirement.
Hellz Bells: Zillz on Fire
Set your sagats ablaze, with intense drills and challenging combinations designed to build insane zillin’ skillz! This workshop will be layered for all skill levels. Everyone is encouraged to attend! This class will earn 2 hours of Rhythm/Zill credit.
Intermediate Belly Dance: Level 2 Technique Review
In Level 2, take your skills, literally, to the next level. Combine Level 1 dance movements with exciting shimmies, luscious layers and intricate footwork to create more dynamic dance, as well as gain greater freedom in your finger cymbal playing by incorporating arm movements. This class is not an AAMED requirement. However, it is highly suggested, if you want to know what is on the Level 2 Skills Assessment Exam.
